What are the criteria for being an N-Gage developer?
We are looking for:
- Experienced mobile or console developers
- Creative-minded developers that strive to produce industry leading mobile games
- Developers with a focus on innovation is a major plus
- Developers proficient in the C++ language.
What is provided by Nokia once approved as a developer?
Developers are provided all the tools and support needed to make connected games for the N-Gage platform.
- N-Gage SDK
Nokia provides full developer support with regular SDK releases.
- Support Request Vouchers
These are used to report problems back to developer support at Nokia.
- R & D Cert Account
This allows a developer to sign his/her game application and any testing devices.
- Testing Devices
These can be obtained with the latest software updates, certificates, and sample applications.
- Developer Discussion Board
This will allow for a wider net of support among other approved N-Gage developers as well as the greater N-Gage team at Nokia.
We are a small developer studio. Will Nokia provide publishing of our titles?
The possibility does exist. However, decisions will be made on a case-by-case basis.
We would like to become a 1st party developer or a 3rd party publisher for Nokia. How do we apply?
Step 1: Register in Forum Nokia.
Step 2: Wait for the automated email notification confirming your registration in Forum Nokia.
Step 3: Once you have successfully registered in Forum Nokia, apply for N-Gage Zone membership.
Step 4:
You will receive an email notification if you are accepted as a developer for Nokia.
Once we've applied, what is the process leading up to an approval or rejection?
Your application will be reviewed by the N-Gage administrator and an account manager or producer. Your company's experience and expertise will be assessed and a decision will be made.
How long does the approval process take?
Approval process varies from application to application. In general most applications are processed within 72 hours, with some exceptions taking longer.
If approved, how will we be notified?
Once a decision is made, the system generates a notification which is sent to the email address enter on the application.
If we're not approved, will we get a rejection e-mail?
Unfortunately, only approved applicants will be contacted.
What are the sales channels for games?
Games are sold over the air through our N-Gage application and can be purchased online.
What IDE's are supported for N-Gage?
The supported IDE for the N-Gage SDK is Carbide C++. More information can be found at the Forum Nokia.
Once our application has been approved, how do we get the SDK?
The N-Gage SDK is delivered through our Secure Delivery System (SDS) that uses Secure File Transfer Protocol (STFP) client that supports SSH2 pub.
